An article I read posed the question…. “what is the goal of the writing?”
“I write to take the shackles off my feet so I can DANCE.”
On the real, this is my passage to healing. Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually it’s all a part of a heavenly plan. I write out loud cause it keeps me from engaging in my favorite pastime…. overthinking.
God knows I’ve got to get this Schtuff out of my head somehow, then What?!! 🤨 So, my dominant intention is to possibly help someone embrace their “bubbling mass of idiosyncrasies,” and live well on their terms.
It’s specifically these “someones” I write to help feel a little less emotionally disorganized with a desire to bless and encourage those “who are tired.” Let’s begin again anew, choose to live free and brave and adopt a #nuAttitude
A Mass of Generational Bullsh*T
I was hesitant to include the following passage in this piece, but spirit compels me to offer a lil more context. Frankly, many times in my life I’ve felt lost and been out-of-control.
Wreckless with some serious baggage, I often did myself a disservice and have felt its effects across my life in a BIG way.
Consequently, my frame of mind and emotional state used to be and at times still is influenced by a tough family relationship (i.e. mother-daughter). This bond has been fraught with conflict and avoidance.
There are some deep wounds. You see, thoughts, beliefs, and actions have been colored by this relationship more than I’d care to admit, even now. Though I continue to learn through this relationship, when I judge it, I still have to ask myself the question “what still needs healing in me?” (thank you Michel Roy👊🏽!!)
The answer most definitely becomes better boundaries, emotional freedom, and maturity. I can get behind a WooHoo on that!🙌
Nevertheless, it’s because of the emotional mess, it seems I’ve been on this journey of 10,000 steps to bring focus to rest upon and encourage revolt and intelligence.
Unhealed Emotions will Manufacture Chaos
Yessiree, in my addiction and co-dependency, I stayed way past its expiration date and made some pretty poor choices. Opting for comfort, laziness, and a perceived need to escape, I let feelings of shame and guilt stunt my growth in some aspects and keep me from living emotionally self-sufficient.
I now see every life experience along this journey emphasizes the idea – one must choose to be all-in and not half-ass with this enduring learning process.
“life is business one must learn to run well” NdrB.
To define emotions – “a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one’s circumstances, mood, or relationships with others,” so feeling a lil emotionally worn-out, I believe is an experience we all face. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.
The evergreen lesson I continue to ingest is some relationships are instigators and harbingers of change as well as agitators and aggravators to move us out of the comfort and co-dependency we so dearly cling to sometimes.
Therefore, How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?
Acknowledgment. The benefit of this kind of exercise helps to let feelings and emotions be what they are…. visitors with information.
So, it’s the “her” still wanting to be addicted and a victim that I write to acknowledge, accept, heal, and let go of attachments with grace. Writing allows life to be visible to understand and make some sense of experiences, past, present, and future to be.
I’m now willing to address and gain more awareness and more understanding. I write to shine a light on the forgotten girl inside and on the outer addict.
All This Reflection Calls For Being Vulnerable
Openness hasn’t always been an easy feat. Life scars of varying intensities (some more so, than others) I’ve learned can either hinder or propel us forward.
That’s okay because in doing so, discovery will happen and more layers will peel away. Subsequently, a choice is made to move beyond comfort into allowing questions and answers to arise.
With faith, hope, willingness, and a renewed perspective, feelings and emotions help us dare to make better choices emotionally, embrace and manage change, and commence to #choosejoyandlivewell.

Let me explain…
A short story, uh Ooh!!
Emotional intelligence (EI) is precisely one’s ability to observe, control, and assess our emotions. “This is a harrowing time” is an understatement and as a collective we are experiencing a massive upheaval to our lives.
So, without too much focus on the current set of circumstances worldwide (can’t escape anyway!!), I would like to bring attention to what we can control by the way we think and feel about it all.
When we assess our thinking and attempt to show up right here, right now as our best selves, we seem to navigate situations better. I know, I know easier said than done, right?!
This modern-day environment has placed new demands on us individually and collectively. Nevertheless, when you have the ability to guide behavior according to how you feel about a situation, you can better understand the meaning.
This understanding of your feelings, in turn, helps in analyzing and understanding the biased, unbiased, and personal perspectives.
Emotional intelligence will hold this whole operation together.
Holy Dilemma, Batman! Issues Schimmues.
Our lives going forward will be about growing through this change and redirection. Can you feel it?
To be emotionally intelligent will demand participation in one manner or another. Why make the personal lesson more difficult than needed?!
Your crisis management will only be successful by choosing to be active with it, not a passive participant in a process we had no choice. We individually can only control our right NOW.
Yessiree, believe me, at the end of the day, you are the only one who can create a new reality and change history…your own. In life, there are no wrong paths, choices, or decisions. Every venture will contribute to the expansion and growth of the soul.
Hit it and Beast it Out!
I know, the time now is so very F*cked up, and it really isn’t.
A special kind of crazy, our emotional intelligence.
If viewed through a lens of emotional intelligence, this is a moment in time for soul growth. Yes, this time is painful, but so is growth in all its forms. If we ever wondered why it seems that making headway through change is slow and a lot of work, it’s because it IS!
I will say this about change…. gain a love of it or at least a healthy appreciation for it and embrace it. Sheer resistance, rebellion, and pride at this moment or any time, plain and simple, is madness for you and others around you. Our new reality may not be much different than the old reality.
Pose this question …. “what is it you pretend you know?” And then ask and hopefully, your answer will be…. I know nothing. When we make a clear admission, we allow ourselves to discover.
Here’s an opportunity to exercise and develop emotional muscles to live well moving forward, and be a more compassionate human-being for self and others.
The new “NOW” condition.
Enter through the BIG DOOR to a power greater than self.
Now is optimal to make a new intention to support and allow yourself personal discovery. The point is to have a healthy internal dialogue to live “our” whys and manage change.
Emotional intelligence is a critical component, particularly how one will deal with challenges and change. Remember, where there is presence, there is faith. You don’t lose when you attempt to rise above in spite of the external circumstances.
Emotional intelligence then becomes a benefit to self and all. When we are open, willing, and flexible, we face life challenges with a new emotionally intelligent definition, and reinvent what we want to see and show up in LIFE especially in this new “normal!”.
Don’t lie to yourself. Be willing to evolve to a better self in every season.

This is a short post about growth helpers, our indispensable aids in establishing growth success.
The whole idea of personal growth is participant action. But of course, you knew that!! 🥰
In this post, I’d like to tell you about a couple of the various tools at your disposal. some of the tools mentioned I’ve found incredibly useful to the process and outcome.
Why do I call the tools ….Power Helpers?
This moniker is befitting because these aids enhance change/growth actions. In particular, these tools simply help us WIN by working in tandem with our intentions.
That is, our choices plus actions make us more proficient every day. Like breathing, we lock in growth as we become more capable in our practice.
An anointing of ease appears and you’ve developed new habit(s). Boom!
Superhero…. Stronger, Wiser. Priceless!
I highly encourage the use of a tool(s) to enhance your Superpowers. The wealth of variety to accommodate how you learn and grow is expansive.
Every possible form is available to us, from yoga, Qigong, dance, tapping (EFT, also known as emotional freedom technique), hypnosis, and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) to prayer, affirmations, meditation, inspirational books, webinars, videos, and podcasts.
Our mighty power (tools, aids, helpers) wranglers enhance strength, durability, agility, and combat prowess! (remember we are in a fight to our best selves).
Stack the deck in your favor! Honestly, these helpers make the process better, easier, and keeps you connected to Source.

At the end of the day, when we set goals, we need to make sure we address areas of mind, body, and spirit. Alignment is key.

Got 99 Problems (sic) and A Growth Tool ain’t One. No B.S.
I’m an advocate of personal growth. 😍Duh!
I think the right growth aid is a game-changer. For this reason, I’ve chosen to offer some information about a few helpers.
Most importantly, the types are vast and can be tailored to suit a person’s preferences. How wonderful is That!
In this post, I’ll offer brief descriptions of the following:
NLP/neuro-linguistic-programming, EFT, affirmations, hypnotherapy, meditation, and more.
This list is not exhaustive but will provide a snapshot of the options out there.
Most of all, your mission should you chose to accept, is to want to know more about em’, Right?!
Okay, here’s the shortlist … “9” tools.
Originating in the 1970s, this is an interesting concept and said to be the language of the mind.
Here’s a method that involves communication, personal development, and psychotherapy.
This is especially helpful if you want to know how the brain works and its effects on what you do.
Consequently, a saying among NLP circles is — “the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal-getter.”
Even though there is no concrete scientific evidence that supports the claims made, the process still warrants a look-see.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) – TAPPING
A form of acupressure for the psyche, its basis is a blend of traditional-ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.
EFT works to physically alter your brain, energy system, and body at the same time.
The process uses energy meridians to treat physical and emotional ailments.
The practice itself involves tapping with your fingertips on specific body points while talking through distressing memories and a wide range of emotions.

These gems help us to supersede negative thoughts, self-talk, and sabotage through positive, clear statements.
The statements are a way to provide emotional support and encouragement.

The altering change in consciousness often leads to experiencing things differently beyond the hypnosis.
Also, the process can invoke feelings of intense rest, concentration, and/or focus.
Hypnotherapy…You are now falling into a deep sleep😴

It only seemed appropriate to join these activities under one banner because each activity is a form of harmonious association.
The emphasis is on using one or more of these activities in concert, thus bringing mental calmness and presence into your daily space.

In a nutshell, a personal development plan is a roadmap you create for action based on personal awareness, values, reflection, and intentions.
Oftentimes, this plan is constructed within the framework of your career, education, relationship or self-improvement.
This tool for development is one of the most individual and personal.
For example, its key purpose is to help improve personal performance and succeed by reaching and exceeding short and long-term intentions.

Let’s talk about “overthinking and knowing,” believe me, I know a thing or two. Just call me … “Lil miss overthinker of everything” over here.”
I’ve been an unfocused mess, worrier, and frenemy with a head full of invisible boogeymen, big and small.
Procrastination, distraction, and sabotage became pals, and we were doing just a lil too much on all the wrong things. For instance, I would do absolutely Nothing but stall, doubt, and worry about insignificant bullSh*t.
I started Fires, living with my hair in flames, constantly playing fireman to put out the fires I started!! The result of all this insignificant action was fiddle-farting around and failure to launch anything effective.
Consequently, I’ve learned this kind of fear thinking and mindset will feed worry about “everything” unknown. You can certainly trust me on this one.
Nevertheless, I still catch myself in the back and forth to work through some Sh*T!(i.e. outdated belief systems, limiting thoughts, and most of all, feelings).
So, this comes from someone who‘s been rather impulsive about things.
In other words, I’m still learning to make sense of life.
That is to say, there’s always somehow a certain “knowing” in my spirit.
I know everything will work out despite the boogeymen.
I finally grasped, most importantly, a “move forward” is not determined by just information; new perspectives arise and shifts continue through active reflection, prayer, and writing.
My trusted allies in vanquishing boogeymen: time, patience, and willingness for thought and inquiry of expectations (mines and others) are now essential.
Forward action is then real and open with more flexibility toward possibilities to become a reality.
To sum up, while our “knowing” is fundamentally invaluable, the added bonus of this “knowing” in reality, is when we don’t know. This creates curiosity…Priceless!
No Fluff. just straight, no chaser! Hallelujah!
From this understanding, I’ve become more sensitive…
1. to triggers in my environment that contribute to my dithering
2. consider what’s reeeally going on
3. make a decision and get to moving something
Trust your intuition, gut, lessons learned, and spiritual leanings, either way, you cut it. You see, it’s your personal “knowing” (what’s known and unknown) working with timing to move the process ahead.
The most relevant action forward — “on time knowledge, for the right reasons, with the proper emphasis.”
You recognize what passes as good for you in the present, a mighty wonderful thing! The result is constructive and positive like sitting on the corner of bombdiggity! Booyah!

How To Stop Procrastination In “4+” Moves.
Like a punch to productivity, procrastination can be the bane of existence.
Indubitably, I have a degree in it!!! 🤣🤣 Mannn, let me tell ya…I can slip down the rabbit hole in a bli9nk and there I am … in procrastination land. But really, joking aside…how can one stop procrastinating?
Spot IT when it’s Afoot!
Let’s check it out…Know What It Is
For all intents and purposes, our working definition is …. “the intentional act of postponement.”
I think you will agree, the video gives a pretty accurate depiction of what is procrastination. On the self-level, this action can seriously stunt personal growth relating to one’s feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction. Of equal importance, in our professional careers, this type of postponement is a disruptive force to advancement.
You want to be productive…work on self, a project, create, etc., but you just can’t seem to focus to get to doing. Mucho Distracted!! Nevertheless, I believe dealing with procrastination has everything to do with how we decide to take action.
When we choose to make move on a desire and goal, this may mean a few things for us, such as:
1) a need to understand what “it” is (desire/goal)
2) patience to reason it out and choose the subsequent action (the “1” thing to get moving)
3) recognizing when procrastination is rearing its furry head and in action (physical manifestation-you’re doing other sh*t!!)
4) then create a flexible, realistic plan to stop the mutha through a strategy or strategies
I’ll be the first to admit yes, I drag my feet sometimes to take action for a vast variety of reasons, you may be able to relate to this. Even though, I see the best thing we can do for ourselves is to recognize when procrastination is overt and sneaky.
Overtly, this could be seen as the constant missing of important deadlines in every area of your life, personal and professional. As a sneaky intruder, this could appear as the constant checking of emails or fussing around on social media under the illusion of work.
Certainly, when we engage in other peripheral activities or distractions that are not productive, we postpone constructive action (not meaning … cooking, cleaning, self-care, and household sh*t but see when these actions are clothed as procrastination too!). Gnaw on that a minute!
Employ some patience to reason and adjust action
Can we consider this too, if we take the time to recognize when we are in procrastination mode, we then practice awareness of what we are doing. This awareness, in turn, allows us to examine the “why” of procrastination and make a plan to stop. Self-awareness acts as an aid in recognizing how it creates undue anxiety.
Let’s continue on the topic of awareness, shall we?
As an essential element in the mix, awareness cues us into knowing the “what” and “why” for the continuous postponement and goof-off. You see, an ugly cycle of anxiety is birthed when we procrastinate, remain unaware, and it’s left unchecked.
Recognition increases self-confidence and thus will help pinpoint the contributors and their associations. In that moment of recognition, it’s a good a time as any to observe “why” you may not be focused.
So, create some strategies to stop the procrastination and Eat the Elephant One Bite at A Time! Why not start today and give a name to the reason(s) for the extra random goofing-off, it’s enlightening and valuable information.
A few activities to help bring the “procrastination station” to a halt or at least to a dull Roar. Rawrrr!
If it has to do with any of the following areas…here’s are a couple of action thoughts…..
- Job or Work: If it’s the job/work is giving you the poo-poo’s, remember a job change or new employment is always an option. But first, though, look at all sides such as the pros and cons of the employment. What’s more, if it pertains to just the work itself, how about committing to either enhancing your capabilities and skills or finding a way to make the job a little less tedious.
- Performing a most unpleasant task: Nobody likes doing sh*t they don’t like, but the truth is … do the undesirable task(s) first. The task will be done sooner than you think. Attempt to get those task(s) out of the way (Bye Felicia!!) and leave the more enjoyable ones to the end.
- Personal organization: not particularly your forte, there are a few tools to help with this: to-do lists for prioritizing and accountability, personal planners, mobile applications, and more. I am sure there is a “tool” that screams your name!
- a BIG project: Like I mentioned above… “eat this Mutha like an Elephant. One tip to ease overwhelm is breaking the project down into smaller chunks of work (you knew that!), and another tip, keep the project in perspective.
I wouldn’t be doing my thing if I didn’t offer up a Tool …… “3” minutes to kicking procrastination in the Booty! Check out the……The Quick-Step.
Know you Know you can…
If you set a personal intention to recognize, prioritize, and develop strategies to stop, know this…you will put the brakes on procrastination. Not saying it’s forever gone, but you can STOP it right at the onset before momentum is lost.

Know Thyself Part 2: Critical, Reflective and Positive Thinking
Have you and do you pay attention to your thoughts, seriously?! Truth is, if we desire to navigate our emotional landscape well, we need to be aware of what and how we think!
Science has shown, we engage various modes of thinking daily. Even though, we don’t pay attention or take time to distinguish our thoughts. This conversation we are about to embark on will center on how important it is to be aware of the abovementioned types of thinking.
You see, our thoughts and feelings are the #1 – #2 punch that lead and secure genuine positive change. Our discernment will benefit in making more sound and better decisions. This is the sister … part 2 – Know Thyself.
Trumpets Sound! The “3” Amigos of thinking…
“Wherever there is personal discord and conflict, these three will be there to see you through…”

Do you think critically?
First things first, let’s hit a definition of what is “critical thinking.” A noun: the intentional analysis and assessment of an issue, personal or otherwise, to form a judgment.
Problem – No assessment, life no workie
I said above, we all think, it’s natural. However, much of our thinking, left to its own devices, will be JACKED UP! So, what am I saying? Our thoughts have the greatest potential to be biased, distorted, partial, uninformed, and downright prejudiced! YIKES!!
Here’s the RUB…. Slapdash and careless thinking is Exxxpensive. The quality of one’s thoughts must be cultivated bit by bit. Our thoughts can and will determine what we create in/as our life experience and variance will appear if not consistent.
Outcome of workie…So, what to do, what to do?
When we assess the information surrounding the question, issue or frustration, our inferences (personal opinion(s), guesses, allegations, main impression(s), and point of view) come into play. Check for clarity, truth, care, strength, common sense, and fairness.
It’s best to identify and question the issue and purpose of the thought. I can bet cha, by doing the above, we all can cultivate the ability to think critically.
A lot HUH?!? That’s not all. Bonus, some more good stuff….
- The facility to now raise very important questions to clear and precise problems
- Possess the ability to collect and evaluate available and correct information
- Develop a well-reasoned and commonsense conclusion
- Create a habit of thinking with an open-mind concerning personal assumptions and realistic consequences
- Learn how to craft improved and effective solutions to difficult problems
I think we can see the benefit of critical thinking as among the first instruments to help navigate emotional wellness. Be it for no other reason, it will condition the mind to examine the form and function of everything you encounter.
As well, please be mindful, critical thinking without knowledge is embarrassingly inactive, kind of like Wonder Woman without her Magic Lasso!! DOH! So a gentle reminder, thought and knowledge need each other.

You’re thinking…reflect on WHAT?
It’s like this…. critical thinking and reflective thinking are often used to mean the same, there’s a difference and also a kindred purpose. Critical thinking describes the situation, issue, challenge etc.; it’s precise controlled calculated thinking, period.
In comparison, reflective thinking is dynamic determination with watchful consideration (personal beliefs and the further conclusions based on this knowledge).
Part of the thinking process, active reflective thinking presents a bridge between the gap in your problem-solving strategies and your goal. Reflection as a practice will presents immense benefits in increasing your self-awareness, another key component to develop a better understanding of self and others. Whoomph! there it is!
Now, Let’s strike Up the Boogie…Hit it!!

Think emotion healthy like your life depends on it…It does!
In everyday life, we’re faced with all kinds of positive and negative events throughout the day, and these events echo our inner thought life. You see, that seemingly never-ending out pouring of thoughts can be both positive or negative…. Plain & Simple!
Some of this is self-talk is just commonsensical meanderings, and sometimes it’s based on misconceptions from a lack of information (thus the cause of some dis-ese).
We always have a choice of how to respond to any situation, personal or professional. May I suggest, get yo’ facts right, first. That’s how we handle the *SCHTUFFY* (yes, I said schtuffy!) self-talk.
Truthfully, our mental strength lies in meeting and interpreting these events. Paramount in this process is our optimism and positive thoughts to act as a stress and dis-ease reducer.
A healthy dose of positivity, information, and self-knowledge does the trick every time. You are now engaging in stress management and BOOM BAM you feel better! Not to be misunderstood, being optimistic and rosy doesn’t mean you walk around Laddie-da!!

Our approach and how we handle the inevitable unpleasantness of life can ultimately add more confidence, positivity, effective and productive problem-solving skills to the ole’ personal development tool box.

When we engage these ways of thinking on the reg, we help ourselves to manage anything life can throw at us! I can’t stress how necessary it is to recognize how you’re thinking every day.
The bonus from this practice is our thoughts become a more directed activity through critical, reflective, and positive thinking processes.
Remember the indispensable message here… we write, direct, and co-create our life. You can always RE-create, change course (if the scenery is not pleasing) and write something new.

Know Thyself: Why It Is Important?
Why it is important?
“Know thyself,” is an instrumental element to successful personal management. I’m talking about self-control and knowing your personal power.
A business management guru named Peter F. Drucker, discussed the importance of self-knowledge in one’s personal and professional career and life. I’m going to conceptually use “Drucker’s” thoughts to present a manner of thinking for personal management.
Drucker made the following statement, he said “do not try to change yourself – you are unlikely to succeed. work to improve the way you achieve” (2005).
I would like to emphasize the importance of doing a scan (internal and external) and to ask the uncomfortable and maybe hard questions. These questions are the ideas to supply some structure to the process for positive maximization. So, I propose, an examination of the — who, what, where and how — of life. We’ll call ‘em the “4” Quadrants, UBetcha!!

Quad 1 …. Who “R” U?
Drucker stated, “to do anything well, one needs to cultivate a deep understanding of self.” Period! This kind of knowledge doesn’t happen overnight, by golly, but it can and does happen. It’s about setting intentions to not only know your strengths and weakness but also how you learn, work, and what your values are (important stuff to know!).
In knowing all this, YOU come into the fullness and beauty of SELF. We can perform better through this knowledge as a benefit to develop ourselves in immeasurable ways. Enhance your Super Powers!
Quad 2 …. What Can U Do?
To self-manage with some success, one must ask, “what are my values?” This question has everything to do with — what you will and will not tolerate! I know, Easier said than done, tolerance can be tricky, Right?! You see, if we allow, people will put us in some very interesting and challenging situations.
However, you do not have to attend every drama-laden, angst-ridden, occurrence in your life!
Check it out, consistent interaction with people whose value system are incompatible and unacceptable to ours leads to both frustration and non-activity.
Edit people out of your life who challenge your values, Ruthlessly and Often! I approve of this message.
Quad 3 …. Where R U Going?
The choice is definitively in your hands. The answers to bullet #2 “what you will and will not tolerate,” is an enormous enabler. You know the answers concerning your strengths, values, and achievements, and thus, can discern where to commit and decide where you don’t belong.
One can say to any challenge, opportunity, or offer, YES! with confidence. Whether this YES is…. I can handle that, I can do that, or I will do that! This definiteness of purpose makes for the kind of results one can expect because this is “who YOU are.”
Quad 3 … How Do U Do U?
There has been research that shows few people know how they get things done. I think we can agree; different people do things differently. So, ask yourself how you “learn, work, and achieve?”
The following may be an even more important point, like your strengths, how you learn, work, and achieve is unique and a matter of your personality. Find your sweet spot for productivity.
It comes down to “2” things…what rocks your boat and does it add value to your life?
